Well, we made it to school today. YEAH!!! After 4 days at home with my son, I was kind of glad to see my classroom today, however, now I'm not feeling so good!
The flu is taking it's run over the school. In my son's class alone, there were 8 students out yesterday and there are only 14 in his class. And the students keep dropping like flies! I had 2 out today (1 diagnosed with the flu) and as the day progressed, my voice proceeded to leave me, my body was achy, and I just didn't feel well!! I don't think I had a fever and since I been home, I am feeling a little better but this afternoon was tough for me but I have a sweet bunch of kids and they did their best to make the day from smoothly.
So here are the precautions the school is taking on this FLU things:
- If your child is not feeling well monitor them for signs or symptoms of
the flu. These commonly include fever, cough, sore throat, chills, body
aches, and vomiting.
- If your child exhibits any of these symptoms do not send them to school to ensure others do not become sick as well.
- If your child has been sick they should not return to school
until they have been free from fever for 24 hours without medication.
On campus we continue to emphasize hand washing, using had sanitizer,
and frequently wiping down the desk to help control the spread of
illness. Please help us work to keep our students healthy.
Now, if everyone will follow these precautions, maybe we can get this FLU bug knocked out and we can all get back to normal. I know I am ready!
Now on to what this week is all about....
In EDU4461 (the APT course), we are learning how to create groups/classes within Learn360 and how to make assignments within those groups/classes. This is a great tool to use, if you have access to computers for all your students at one time. This resource is free to teachers but in order to keep it free, we need to use it!! I have found some wonderful videos on there about the things we are studying right now in class. It is great! Oh and I love the fact that I am taking the course with some teacher friends of mine. It keeps things fun and exciting!
In EDU4465 (the wiki/blog/podcast/skype course), we are learning about Wikis, which you can view mine by going to my previous post with the link. I am really loving the Wiki page! I think I could get really good at making those and coming up with exciting ways to incorporate them into my class. Take a look at my wiki and PLEASE let me know what you think of it!!! I welcome all comments and suggestions!
Well, it has been a LONG day and between helping my son with his make-up work (he is not wanting to do and I'm ready to beat him) and looking over Research paper outlines and Note cards for my students, I think it is time to call it a night!
Get some good sleep! Tomorrow is another wonderful day the Lord is making just for you!
Nite, Nite!!
Glad you all are feeling better and back to business! :-)
